Thomas (Tom) James Wendzinski – Loving husband, father, brother and friend. Tom loved his family with everything he had, and was always concerned with the safety and comfort of others before himself. Throughout his life Tom's family and friends enjoyed his loving smile, practical thinking and knack for solving any math problem or trivia question you threw in front of him. Tom died at his home in Troy on March 23, 2012. Tom was born on April 23, 1961 at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital to Gaston and Ramona Wendzinski. He graduated from Southfield Lathrup High School and continued his studies at the University of Michigan – Dearborn where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. While at UM-Dearborn, Tom met his future wife, Theresa (Terry) Frechette. They married on November 29, 1985. Most important to Tom was his family. He had three children with Terry: Julia, Daniel and Anna. Tom took pride in the accomplishments of his children, from the marching band competitions, to the hockey games, to the cheerleading competitions – and of course the numerous academic awards. Tom was one of seven children; brother of Karen Keegan (Jack), Janet Kerns (Tom), Mike (Joan), Sue Wysocki (Gregg), Diane Wells (Ron), and Steve (Estelle). He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. For fun Tom liked to cheer on all of the Detroit sports teams whether at the game, out with friends, or watching from home. If there was ever a golf tournament happening, it was a sure bet that he had it on the TV at home. Living healthy and working out was important to Tom. He belonged to a handful of recreational ice hockey teams and also enjoyed going on bike rides with Terry and playing with his two dogs, Scott-E and Lola. Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond and Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd., Troy (between Maple and Big Beaver) Monday, March 26, 2012, from 2-8 PM. Memorial service Tuesday, March 27, at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Baker officiating. Memorial tributes may be made to: St. John Hospice, 37650 Garfield Road, Clinton Twp., MI 48036.
