PALLIS, Thomas Joseph Thomas Joseph Pallis, beloved husband to the late Katherine (Young) Pallis, passed away peacefully at home in Tolland on Thursday, (April 27, 2006) surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on July 22, 1926, to the late Joseph and Catherine (Quinn) Pallis in Mahonoy City, PA, he lived in Mahonoy City and New York City before moving to Tolland 42 years ago. He was a graduate of the Boys High School in Brooklyn, NY. As a teen, Thomas was part of the Army Cadet Program and joined the army to serve in Italy during World War II. Prior to his retirement in 1985, Thomas was employed by the Travelers Insurance Company for 25 years. He was a communicant of St. Matthew Church, Tolland. Thomas and his late wife Katherine raised five children, and were foster parents to numerous children throughout the years. He will be greatly missed by his five children, Joseph Pallis and his wife Patricia of Tolland, William Pallis and his wife Kimberly of Glastonbury, Theresa Zell and her husband Paul of Concord, CA, Karen Hareld and her husband Lee of Somers, and Christopher Pallis and his wife Virginia of Tolland; his eight loving grandchildren, Jonathan, Margaret, Sarah, Samuel, Katelyn, Jack, Thomas, and Riley; his two sisters, Adelaide Cavanagh of North Babylon, NY, and Mary Hoffman and her husband Everett of Haddam, and several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Rt. 83), Vernon, on Tuesday, May 2, from 9-10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m., in St. Matthew Church, Tolland. Military Honors will follow after the conclusion of the Mass. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.
