Threse H."Terry" Motzel, 73, of Neptune, died peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2017 at her daughter's home in Ridgewood surrounded by her children after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born in East Orange on August 1, 1943 to James P. and Helen (McGeehan) Holleran . She lived in Millburn, Sea Girt and Spring Lake before moving to Seaview Island in Neptune in 2001.

Mrs. Motzel worked in real estate and mortgages throughout the 1980's and was Surgical Assistant and Office Manager for Dr. Gary Karakashian in Manasquan for 20 years before retiring in 2013.

Mrs. Motzel was predeceased by her husband Robert "Bobby" in 1991. They were Manasquan High School sweethearts and married September 26, 1965. Terry is survived by her sons, Robert and his wife, Colleen of Flemington and Greg and his wife, Wendy of Jersey City; daughter, Jen McCabe and her husband, Billy of Ridgewood; brother, Bill Holleran and his wife Tita of Sanibel Island, FL; sister, Ellyn Holleran of St. Augustine, FL., and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Jim & Jack Holleran and her sister Joan Pappas. Terry loved her brothers in law and her sisters in law as true siblings. Terry cherished being "Nana" to her grandchildren Mary and husband Justin, Kate, Robbie, James, Bobby, Timmy and Kevin who loved her dearly.

She most loved spending time with family and was adored by many. She proudly enjoyed the nickname "Mrs. Motz" by many young friends who grew up with her children. Her grandchildren's friends mostly referred to her as "Nana" and enjoyed her company and hospitality that she was known for throughout her life. Her door was always open and the house was always filled with fun and much love.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 4-7pm at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan, NJ. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Catharine Church in Spring Lake. Interment will follow at St. Catharine Cemetery in Wall Twp.

In lieu of flowers donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
