Thomas L. 'Tommy' Brown, 57, of Lowndesville, husband of the late Gayle D. Brown, died Monday, February 29, 2016, at his home. He was born in Abbeville to the late Johnny R. Brown, Sr. and Annie Ruth Powell Brown. Tommy was a veteran of the South Carolina National Guard with Abbeville's 111th Signal Battalion. He was an electrician by trade and a self-made entrepreneur. Tommy was a member of Lowndesville Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Brown and Marvin A. Brown. Tommy is survived by his son, Nathan Brown and his wife Lacie of Easley; his daughter, Angela Brown of Lowndesvillle; a grand-daughter, Bailee Brown, lovingly reared in the home; two brothers, Buster Brown of Starr and Johnny R. Brown, Jr. and his wife Tina of Lake Secession; two grandchildren, Sully Brown and Zoiee Parnell. The family will receive friends 11:00am – 12:30pm, Wednesday, March 2, 2016, in Lowndesville Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Griggs officiating. Funeral services will begin at 1:00pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. The family is at the home. Memorial contributions, in memory of Tommy, may be sent to Lowndesville Baptist Church, c/o The Gayle Brown Fund, PO Box 70, Lowndesville, SC 29659.
