Thurman L. "Stubby" Stubblefield, 80, passed away October 20, 2017. Born April 5, 1937 in Hartsville, TN to the late Buford and Orba Hancock Stubblefield; he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Stubblefield; children, Joe Taylor, Teresa (Todd) Lee, Leslie (Tisa) Stubblefield, Jane (Jake) Gwin; four grandsons.
Mr. Stubblefield, a Deacon at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, retired from E I DuPont after 36 years as a Supervisor; served in the US Army and a 36 year Scout Leader.
A celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 Wednesday at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Ronald Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Eagle Scouts, Joey Qualls, Lee Irvin, George Harper, Mike Wall, Leland Fuller, Kenny Elkins, Chris Gray, and Chris Barrington. Honorary Pallbearers are Former Eagle Scouts and the Deacons of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Primitive Baptist Church or Boy Scout Troop 182.
Family and friends will gather to remember Stubby at a visitation, Monday and Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church 515 Long Hollow Pike, Goodlettsville, TN.
