Velda Ritabelle Forman, 85, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2017, exactly fifteen years after losing her son, Stephen. She was born on March 9, 1932 to James and Mildred McClain in Delaware Ben, TX.





Velda retired from Pollock Paper Company after 20 years of faithful service. She was an extremely hard worker and upon retirement, taught herself how to paint. She was an amazing artist and had drawn things all of her life and now she had time to further her talent by painting amazing landscapes and portraits. Velda was a fantastic cook and made some fabulous desserts for her family. She was a member of Pointview Baptist Church in Combine. Velda also enjoyed collecting dolls, jewelry and teacups and saucers. Affectionately known as “Nanny”, her family was her greatest pleasure in life.





Preceding her in death are her parents, her loving husband of 64 years, Jack Forman, son Stephen Forman, brother Coy McClain, sons-in-law Billy R. Bennett, Jr. and Terry Spurlock.





Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Colleen Spurlock; grandchildren: Brant Bennett and wife, Kerri, Kristy Bowling and husband, Jim, Kimberly McKissick and husband, Duncan and Zach Forman; great-grandchildren: Rayleigh, Noah, Maddie, Fury, Braydon and Lotus; sister Jimmie Jo McClain nephew Gerald McClain; sister-in-law Vi Whitney and many friends and extended family members that will miss her dearly.





Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 on Saturday, October 7, 2017, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville, TX. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest by her husband in the Garden of Memories.
