Velma "Lorene" Pittman, age 80, of Hatton, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born in Jefferson, Texas on May 30, 1933 to the late Alex Sterling Pitchford and the late Ruby J. Watson Pitchford. She spent fifty and a half happy years married to the late Bill Pittman and she was a Proverbs 31 wife. Lorene was a devoted homemaker. She loved her family, gave selflessly of herself, and was always willing to help any way she could. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be forever missed. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church, but attended other community churches as well. She was a participant of the Cossatot Senior Center and was a member of the Extension Homemaker's Club.

She is survived by:

Sons: David Pittman and wife Theresa
Norman Pittman and wife Denise

Daughter: Shirley Pittman Grisham and husband Craig

Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a multitude of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Ruby Pitchford, her husband Bill Pittman and a grandson, Brad Pittman.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wickes Church of the Nazarene with Brother John Newlin officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery at Kirby, Arkansas under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church prior to service.

Pallbearers will be Justin Cody Grisham, Coltin Wade, Craig Grisham, Chuck Firmin, Michael Moonoo, and Jarrod Daniels.

Memorials may be made to the Cossatot Senior Center.
