Verna Lee King Roush, age 93 of Raleigh, NC and Little River, SC, passed away on Tuesday December 19, 2017.
Mrs. Roush was born in Robinson Kansas March 7, 1924 to the late Sylvester King and Corinthia Pace King. She married the love of her life Wayne Eldon Roush on October 23, 1942. Lee worked for Western Union in Denver and New York City, NY during WWII, and was later a medical transcriptionist at the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan in Denver. Lee was active in her community as a Cub Scout den mother, a 4H club leader, and in church youth group. She was a member of Highlands United Methodist Church, Denver, CO, Phillips UMC, Lakewood, CO, where Lee was involved in Stephen's Ministry, and most recently, Little River UMC, Little River, SC.
Verna Lee Roush was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years, Wayne E. Roush; a granddaughter, Melissa Ann Roush; a sister, Viola Mae Walters; and a brother, Earl King.
Surviving are her son, Michael Roush (Anne) of Wake Forest, NC; her daughter, Susan Roush (Nicolas Mendoza) of Little River, SC; two grandchildren, Allison Chilton (Dan) and Aaron Shapiro (Leeza).
Graveside services are at eleven o'clock in the morning on Friday December 22, 2017 in the Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC.
