Vicky Hardin, 87, of Amarillo died Sunday, November 5, 2017 after a short illness. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon's Chapel, 5400 South Bell with Brian Mashburn officiating. Graveside services will be Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Eller Flat Prairie Dell Cemetery in Canadian, Texas. Viewing will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Vicky was born September 8, 1930 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Rhoda and Rueben Guest. Vicky graduated in 1948 from Cordell High School and attended Harding College for two years in Searcy, Arkansas. She transferred to Southwestern Teacher's College in Weatherford, Oklahoma. While teaching third and fourth grade in Bessie, Oklahoma she married her high school sweetheart Dan Hardin on December 25, 1951.In June of 1953, Vicky and Dan moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico with Dan's new job at Sandia Laboratories. They remained in Albuquerque until they moved to Amarillo in 2015. Vicky loved any kind of game but particularly card games. She was a very skilled bridge player and in high demand as a bridge partner. She served in several positions of the Sanado Women's Club in Albuquerque before becoming President of the organization in 1985. Vicky was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. Vicky is preceded in death by her parents and grandson; Daniel Ray Hardin. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Dan Hardin of the home; three children, Kirk and wife Paula Hardin, daughter Holly and husband Roy Bradshaw and son Joe and wife Zeborah Hardin; ten grandchildren, Lindsay Hardin, Ty Hardin and wife Miriam, Zanda Hardin Byrd and husband Jason, Sarah Hardin, Suzanne Bradshaw, Victoria Bradshaw, Z'Ann Hardin Allison and husband Mesa, Hannah Hardin and Zoe Hardin; five great-grandchildren, Grant Hardin, Isaac Hardin, Eddie Strickland, Travis Strickland and Zaylee Byrd.
