Violet Marie McVay, age 68, of Ashdown, AR left this world on February 25, 2012.
Mrs. McVay was born March 12, 1943 in Oak Grove, LA and has lived in Ashdown, AR for the past 43 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, grammy, and sister. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Ashdown and the Arden EH Club, as well as participating in many community activities. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Viola Eppinette; her father-in-law, Chalmos McVay; four brothers James Eppinette, Billy Eppinette, Travis Eppinette, and Stanley Eppinette; and her great-grandson, Keagan Altenbaumer.

Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Sheldon McVay; one daughter, Shelly McVay Walsh and husband Mike of Texarkana, TX; three sons, Michael McVay and wife Kim of Texarkana, AR; Mark McVay and wife Trish of Demopolis, AL; and Clayton McVay and wife Gabrielle also of Demopolis, AL; Mother-in-law, Myrtle McVay of Bastrop. LA; two sisters, Jimmie White and husband June of Bastrop,LA and Barbara Haddock and husband David of Bastrop, LA; three brother-in-laws, Dwain McVay of Monroe, LA; Keith McVay and wife Joan of Bastrop, LA; and Ricky McVay and wife Melinda of Ashdown, AR; one sister-in-law. Eileen Decorte and husband Danny of Bastrop, LA; twelve grandchildren, Clay McVay, Patrick Peske, Jessica Altenbaumer and husband Jason, Cody Lewis, Jonathan Walsh, Caitlin Walsh, Zoie McVay, Logan McVay, Clayton McVay Jr., James Chandler McVay, Sara Kathleen McVay, and Chance McVay; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Altenbaumer and Rylan Altenbaumer; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday February 27, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, AR.

Funeral Services will be at Central Baptist Church in Ashdown, on Tuesday February 28, 2012 at 10:00 am. Officiating the service will be Mrs. McVay's nephew, Alan Eppinette of Bastrop, LA and Ron Chesser of Ashdown, AR. Pall Bearers will be Violet's nephews Health Eppinette, Owens West, Robert Eppinette, Lance West, Stephen Eppinette, Blake Decorte, and Josh McVay.Honorary pall bearers include nephews; Adam McVay, Donald McVay, Richard "Dickey" McVay, Zachary McVay, Morgan McVay, Stanley Eppinette, Audie Eppinette, And Kevin Eppinette.
