A memorial service for Virginia Gay Lees, 97, will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 12:00pm at the Alexandria United Methodist Church, 72 Church Street, Alexandria, Ohio. Visitation will be held at 11:00 am at the church. A private graveside will be taken place later. Virginia passed away peacefully at Middleton- Raccoon Senior Living Center on Monday, October 17, 2016. She was born October 18, 1918 to Rex M. and Deena Lucile (Wilson) Watson, Sr. in Harrison Township. She graduated from Pataskala High School in 1936. She Married Willis Claggett Lees in 1943. They moved to their farm outside Alexandria in 1948 where they raised turkeys, dairy cattle, beef cattle, hogs, chickens and grain crop. Virginia was longtime member of Alexandria United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking angel food cakes and rhubarb pies for family and friends. A former 4 H leader, she was a talented seamstress and did custom sewing and tailoring for others. Virginia is survived by sons, David (Suzanne) Watson Lees and Glenn Willis (Debra) Lees, grandchildren, Heather (Mark) Pottebaum, David E. Lees, Kent (Erin) Lees, Christine Lees, Jacob (Laura) Lees and Great-grandchildren Whitney Lees, Luke Lees, Magnolia Lees and Asher Lees. She is also survived by Elnorah Watson, Rozella Lees, Bennett (Ruth) Lees and many nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Lees, brothers, John (Mary) Watson, William Watson and Rex Watson jr, sisters, Katheryn (Howard) Fankhauser, Mary Watson and Jeanne Philabaum, brothers-in-law, Denzil Lees Jr, Don Lees, sisters-in-law, Mary Brown, Esther (Bob) Baker and Ruth (Harold) Hayden.
