Virginia H. Sacher (nee Heatherly), 95, a resident of The Gardens of Annapolis, passed away on July 19th 2017 at Easton, MD. She was born on March 27, 1922, in Wheeling, WV, where she was raised and attended Tridelphia High School. She previously lived in Bowie, MD; Wheeling WV; Morgantown, WV; and Oakland, MD. She had worked at Laidley & Selby stationary store, Will O’ the Wisp Resort at Deep Creek Lake, as a Mary Kay Consultant, and as a Girl Scout leader and dedicated homemaker. She was the matriarch who was very dedicated to all her family members and friends who also was involved in local politics. She was an astute and wise woman who imparted her knowledge and common sense to so many. For 95 years she was the rock for her family who took care of all and she will live on forever in our hearts and memories. She was a great lady.

Her husband, Louis John Sacher, Jr., preceded her in death in 2006. They were married for 64 years. Virginia is survived by daughters Patricia Fogg (Fred), Sandra Newnam (Everett), Heather Karlow (Steve), and Colleen Scherger (Mark). Her 11 grandchildren are Mark & Stephen DeBerry; Fred Fogg III & Jennifer Disinger; Everett & Beth Newnam; Benjamin & Brian Karlow; and Dillon, Tucker, & Colton Scherger. There are also 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street Annapolis, MD 21401 on Sunday from 3 to 6 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday at 6 PM. Friends are invited to gather at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville 1080 Sunrise Beach Road Crownsville, Maryland 21032 on Monday from 2:15 to 2:30 PM. A Committal Service will take place in the Cemetery Chapel at 2:30 PM.
