Virginia (Lucas) Kibler, 95, of Staunton went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Brookdale Senior Living.
Born January 29, 1920 in Fairfield, VA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary B. (Paxton) Lucas. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1937.
Virginia was a lifelong member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Women of the Church, taught Sunday School and helped with Bible School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Augusta County where she worked as a secretary for Judge William S. Moffett. She was a member of the Blue Triangle Club and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Stanley Kibler on March 10, 2006; siblings, Elizabeth Cummins, Joseph Lucas and Hugh Lucas.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Deborah (Kibler) Rager and husband, Preston of Cockeysville, MD; grandchildren, Anthony Philip-Michael Reass of Chicago and Alexa Virginia Reass of Atlanta; dear friends, Bobby and Becky Lyle; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Spring Hill Presbyterian Church, 4141 Spring Hill Road, Staunton, with the Rev. John T. "Sam" Hayter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 18 W. Frederick St., Staunton.
The family extends their gratitude to the Brookdale Staff and Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah.
