Virginia (Ginny) Richeson, 91, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on December 19, 2017. Virginia was born to parents Army Capt. John G and Myrtle Schaeufele in Fort Riley, KS on March 30, 1926. Her family moved to Alvaton, Kentucky where she attended Western Kentucky University and graduated with a teaching degree. It was at the University where she met her future husband, Bill Richeson, and they were married June 4, 1949. Ginny and Bill traveled extensively with Bill's enlistment in the Air Force. Ginny taught school in many places, the most interesting was in Lakenheath, England where she taught in a Quonset Hut with a pot belly stove for heat. They finally settled in San Antonio, Texas after retirement where Ginny enjoyed painting as a hobby. She was a devout Christian with a loving heart which could be seen through her artwork.
Visitation is planned beginning at 9:00 a.m. with Funeral services at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 28th at J.C. Kirby & Sons Lovers Lane Funeral Chapel in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and brother, Bennett Keith Schaeufele. Survivors include her Daughter Terri Hill and husband Kal of Oklahoma City with their Children Brian Hill and Jennifer Hill. Daughter Holly Ward and husband Brant of San Antonio TX with their family Jason and Ashley Ward with daughter Mae and son Spencer, Chris and Sunday Fischer with daughters Reagan and Jordan. Her Brother, John Schaeufele and his wife Martha of Bowling Green and Sister, Mary Guarnieri, of Columbus, Ga. Virginia also has numerous nieces and a nephew.
