Vivian Kay Arnold Abercrombie

Aged 76, died Saturday 1/20/2018 at Chadwick Nursing Center in Jackson, MS after a long and difficult struggle with cancer.

Mrs Abercrombie was a native of Port Gibson, MS, daughter of John B. and Nora C. Arnold.
She graduated Port Gibson High School, as class Salutatorian, then attended MS College for Women in Columbus, MS where she excelled in English and Art.

Mrs. Abercrombie was an outstandingly talented artist/painter, especially in oils.

She was married to Dewey Earl Abercrombie from Fayette, MS from 1962 until his death in 2005. They lived & raised their family in Jackson, MS. She was also a member of Siwell Road Church of Christ.


Mrs. Abercrombie is survived by her daughters: Sheri Abercrombie Gilmore, currently residing in Pacifica, CA and Jill Abercrombie Chase, currently residing with her husband Edward (Bobby) Winslow Chase IV in Terry, MS.
Grandchildren include: Robert Earl Jones of Jackson, MS, Alyssa Jones Neal of Terry, MS, Patrick C. Gilmore of Pascagoula, MS, Sueann Marie Chase of Terry, MS, and Boyd O. Chase of Terry, MS.
Great-Grandchildren include: Jennifer Neal-Beck of Carrollton, MS; Ryleigh Neal, Sean Neal, and Brennan Neal -all of Terry, MS.

Mrs Abercrombie is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Julia Ann Moon of Roxie, MS and by her nieces & nephew: Cynthia Wardell of Elm Grove, LA, Paul B. Adams of Dover, TN, Vicky Gresham of Waverly, TN, and Wendy Pigford of Chelsea, AL,
and by numerous great-nieces & great-nephews throughout Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas.

Mrs. Abercrombie will be laid to rest in Port Gibson, MS at the Arnold family plot in Wintergreen Cemetery on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018.
