Mr. W.G. "Dub" Cole Jr. 89 of Corpus Christi and Chireno, TX passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at his log cabin in the beautiful Piney Woods of Chireno, TX.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, at Memory Gardens located at 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. in Corpus Christi, Texas. James S. Davis, son-in-law, will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to a Charity of your choice.

W.G. was born August 18, 1928, in Fort Worth, Texas to W.G." Buster" Cole and Esther (Barnett) Cole. He graduated from Glen Rose High School. Graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1960 in Animal Husbandry. He also served in the US Army. On August 5th, 1956 he married Henrietta Joyce Sling in Lovington, New Mexico.

W.G. was a cattle rancher in Mc Mullen County and recently in East Texas. He enjoyed all aspects of life at the ranch. He was a people person, never met a stranger. He loved pulling pranks on people and making them laugh. He got most enjoyment working with his two daughters and their projects in 4-H and FFA, showing Steers in Livestock shows. Traveling to Red River at Christmas time and Leaky in the summers was a highlight with his family. He was a loving husband and father.

W.G. is survived by his wife of 61 years Joyce Cole; two daughters, Toni Davis and her husband, James of Chireno, Texas; Terri Faver and her husband, Tommy of Corpus Christi; His four grandchildren, Ashley, W.L., Christian and Cole Buckmaster all of Corpus Christi, Texas and 3 great- grandchildren; nephew, Burt Utley and wife, Mary Helen of Goliad, Texas; one niece Cynthia Ventura and husband, Tim Thompson of Corpus Christi, Texas; his four great nieces, Melody Limon of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Melissa Limon-Elisarraras and husband, Michael of Santa Margarita California, Kimberly Kelly and husband, Patrick of Houston Texas, Sarah Utley of Houston, Texas and brother in law, Henry R. Sling of San Antonio.

He is preceded in death by his parents W.G. and Esther Cole; his grandparents; sister, Sue Ruse and his niece, Phoebe Limon; two great aunts, Pearl and Joe Cole all of Big Spring, Texas; his childhood friend and cousin, Gill Barnett of Dallas, Texas.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas.
