The beloved husband of Eva Chandler Ripoll for 58 years, he is survived by his brother Frank Ripoll, sister-in-law Evelyn C. Arnold, sister-in-law Joan Chandler, sister-in-law Ruby Ripoll, and 13 nieces and nephews. There are also countless great and great-great nieces and nephews who will dearly miss their Uncle Bubby. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Celina and Henry Ripoll, Sr. and brothers Henry Jr. (Dutch) and Albert and baby sister Celina and his brother-in-laws Alfred J. Arnold and Thomas Chandler and sister-in-laws Rose Ripoll and Olga Ripoll. He worked as a welder at the Higgins Yard pre-WWII building the Landing Craft for the war effort. He then served in the US Army as Technician 5th Grade for Headquarters Company 14th Infantry in Germany, being awarded the WWII Victory Medal and Occupation Medal. He is retired from the N.O. Sewerage and Water Board. He was an usher for many years at St. Cecelia Church then Blessed Seelos Church and most recently attending Our Lady of Divine Providence Church after moving to Metairie upon losing his beloved Bywater home to Hurricane Katrina. He was awarded the St. Louis Medallion for his many years of service to the Catholic Church. He was very devoted to the Blessed Mother, praying the rosary every day, even reciting the Hail Mary countless times until his last day. He never met a stranger and was beloved by everyone.
