Obituary

Walter S. Larson, son of Walter E. Larson and Jeanne B. Larson was born on 2/27/1955. He arrived home safely with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 8/9/2019 after a valiant fight with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Pamela (Wells) Larson, and his brother Robert of Diamond City, Arkansas. As well as his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, expressing his great love for them often; Natalie, Jonna, Jenny and Heather, Peter, Ryan and Matt, 5 great nieces and 1 great-great niece and his brothers-in-law, Robin and Todd Wells.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Verda Jeanne Medina and his brother, R. Hugh Beebe.

Walter was born in Geneva, IL and graduated from Geneva Community High School in 1973. He recently attended his 45th class reunion in October and had a great time reconnecting with his classmates! He graduated from St. Francis College in 1978 with a B.S. in Law and Government with honors. After graduation Walt had various jobs over the years and ended up working at BRK Electronics for many years as a warehouse manager where he made many friends. Up until August he was attending breakfast the first Saturday of every month with his "girlfriends" (wife attended as well – wink wink). He went on to work in the shipping industry until he was unable to work due to failing health.

He was a member of the Aurora Moose Lodge #400 for many, many years, and serving as Governor of the Lodge in 1992-1993, serving proudly. Walt bowled on the Aurora Moose bowling league and had played in many tournaments. He also had a penchant for video games, always on top of all the latest systems; especially loved the sports games. Walt had a mind like a steel trap when it came to statistics and could tell you names and dates of any importance for just about all sports! Walt grew up devouring trivia books. As a result, Trivial Pursuit was a game he excelled at, to the point where it was hard to find anyone to play against him!

For the last 14 years Walt and Pam spent their Saturdays going on a breakfast date as well as out to dinner every Sunday after church – enjoying each other's company.

He had been an active member of Orchard Valley Baptist Church for the past 7 years, proudly serving on the Finance team which he continued until one month before his death.

Walter accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior on 6/24/2012; being discipled over the years by Pastor Michael Kanai for whom he had much respect. Walt's faith in Christ never wavered during the hardest moments of his fight with cancer. He never asked, "Why me Lord?" His and Pam's faith sustained them during his entire journey. He has been healed and is now perfect and pain free in heaven with our Lord. Praise God!!
