Wayne Allen Hartnup passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the age of 83. He was born on February 26, 1934 in Hobart, Indiana; he moved to Sarasota as a young man and graduated from Sarasota High School. He attended Stetson University where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, and graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He married Arline Lois Schwertfeger on September 7, 1956. He was also a member of the ROTC, leading to his eventual rank of Captain in the Army.

He worked as the finance officer for Sarasota County School Board, Colony Beach & Tennis Club and Sarasota County. In his leisure time he spent substantial time at their house in the mountains of North Carolina and at their beach condo at Lime Tree Resort, where they spent their honeymoon. They also enjoyed traveling extensively as their time and health allowed.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 59 years, Arline Lois Hartnup; his parents, John Charles Hartnup and Grace Ann Small; his brother, Harry Hartnup and sisters, Ruth (Marion) Stockwell and Vera (Ted)Brice.

Wayne is survived by his three daughters and five grandchildren; Melody (Scot) Boeringer-Hartnup and their daughter and son, Tabitha and Daniel; Janice (Jesse) Jones and their daughter and son, Hailey and Ian; and Diana (Dan) Burns, and their daughter Kiera. Wayne will also be dearly missed by his brother, Robert "Bob" Charles Hartnup, his son-in-spirit, Jesse Jones, his nephews David (Virginia) and Levert (Debi) Hartnup, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Dad and Mom will always be with us at Hartnup's Eden and Lime Tree.

Family will greet guests from 11 AM until the graveside service at 12 Noon on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave., Sarasota, FL 34232. The reception will be directly following the internment at the Twin Oaks Pavillion at 6700 Clark Road, starting at 12:30pm.
