Wayne Joseph Bender, age 72, of Venice, FL died on March 16, 2012. He was born in East Greenbush, NY on March 24, 1939. Wayne was a veteran of the US Air Force where he served as a medic. He worked as the General Foreman of the Water Department in East Greenbush until he retired to Florida. He was a life member of the Miller Hose Volunteer Fire Company and served as its Treasurer for over 20 years.

Wayne is survived by his wife Patricia "Patti", of Venice; brothers Kenneth (Betty), Richard (Grace), and Edward; sisters Jean Brady and Kathryn Bellinger; brother in law August (Gus) Melick; sisters in law Leeann Grau (Dean) and Donna Melick; and 23 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Andrew.
