Wesley Robert Wilson passed away peacefully, in the arms of his family, August 2, 2017. He was born June 9, 1930 in San Francisco, California, to Hallie Ruth Wilson and George Wilson.

Wes grew up in the Bay Area, but spent much of his life working and traveling abroad. Wes was an adventurer at heart, serving 4 years in the US Naval Reserve before becoming a merchant sailor for the Danish Maersk shipping line and spent time in the Far East and Europe. He worked various jobs in Denmark and Great Britain before he joined the US Air Force in 1952. His experience and language skills led to a 22-year career in intelligence activities, mostly in Europe. He retired a Master Sergeant in 1972 and then obtained two Masters' Degrees and worked in El Paso, Texas, before returning to Germany in 1982 to embark on a civil service career. He retired for a second time in 1996 in Germany and moved to back to Texas, ultimately settling in Georgetown.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila; daughter, Christina; son, Timothy; beloved grandchildren, Samuel, Eric, Christopher, William, Jonathan and Richard; as well as many cousins and countless friends whose lives he touched over the years.

His eldest son, Robert Wilson, preceded him in death.

Wes was a modest, but amazing man-he was a husband, father, grandfather and hero to his family and friends. His passing has left an unfillable gap in the lives of those he touched.

Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 8th at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make donations in Wes' honor to: Hounds for Heroes, a charity close to his heart (https://www.houndsforheroes.us/) or to plant a tree through the Williamson County Parks Memorial Tree program.

Arrangements by Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628 (512)863-2564.
