Wilbert F. Dittrich, age 82, passed away at his home in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, December 31, 2017. He was born in Schulenburg, Texas, on July 15, 1935. He spent most of his childhood in Fayette County, Texas and moved to Houston, Texas in 1954. On July 15, 1956, he married Irene Cernoch. Wilbert and Irene enjoyed spending time with family and friends, entertaining together, and spending weekends at their farm in High Hill, Texas. Wilbert worked in home and commercial construction all over the Houston area for over 35 years and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus #4550, KJT #121 and Catholic Life #58.

Wilbert is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 62 years, Irene Dittrich; their four children, Annette Kocian and her husband, Eric, Patrick Dittrich and his wife, Julia, Phyllis Sternadel, and Mary Kay Dittrich; their eight grandchildren, Patrick Dittrich Jr. and wife Brittany, Robert Dittrich and wife Ashley, Chrystal Herman and husband Kasey, Matthew Kocian, Heath Sternadel, Jessica Clemons and husband Elbert, Kimberly Kocian and husband Scott Flynn, and Rylan Sternadel; their eight great grandchildren, Josiah Clemons, Kendall Dittrich, Jeanelle Clemons, Harper Dittrich, Caden Dittrich, Selah Dittrich, Charlotte Dittrich and Kennedy Herman; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gustav Dittrich and Annie (Berger) Dittrich, and his siblings Edgar Dittrich and Doris Hayslip.

A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 2nd from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas 77055, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd at 11:00 am at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8825 Kempwood Drive, Houston, Texas 77080. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg, Texas at 3:00 pm.
