Wilford Gwilliam Biesinger passed away on November 28, 2012 at the age of 94. He was born in Weiser, Idaho on July 11, 1918 to Wilford Markmann and Amelia Gwilliam Biesinger. He grew up in Salt Lake City, graduating from Granite High School in 1934, at the age of 16. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1939 and attended Northwestern University Medical School, graduating in 1942 when he was 24.

Wilford was a WWII veteran, serving as an Army Captain in the Pacific. During the war years he met and married Genevieve Christensen, while they were both living in Chicago. They were married in December 1942. They had five children: Don, deceased (Carol); Jim (Marianne); Susan; Esther; and Gerald (Marlene). They were later divorced.

After returning from the war, Wilford completed his surgical specialty and began his practice in Springville, where he and his partners built the Springville Medical Center. He also practiced at the Payson and Utah Valley Hospitals. He was proud of the role he played in developing Payson Hospital into the Mountain View Hospital that exists today. When not doctoring, Wilford enjoyed working with his kids on the family farm in Mapleton. It kept the whole family occupied until the kids moved on. Wilford continued to work part time as the company doctor at Pacific State Cast Iron Pipe until he completely retired in his 80's.

Wilford married Elaine Curry Davis on June 2, 1971. Elaine's children are Calvin (Natalie); and Jeff (Sarah). Together Wilford and Elaine have 24 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Springville Stake Center, 245 South 600 East (Kolob Circle), Springville, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 and at the church Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #28 of Springville. Condolences may be sent through his obituary at www.bergmortuary.com.
