Willard J. (Pap) Castle, 80, of Ray, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2018. He was born July 7, 1937, in Kentucky to Hobert and Martha (Barker) Castle. He grew up in the Sugartree area in Ross County, Ohio. On February 13, 1990, he married his loving wife, Elvarie (Wills) Castle.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Ronald (Jo) Warrens, Pamela (Steve) Higginbotham, Michael (late Deborah) Warrens, Teresa (late Dale) Bartram, Terri Barnhart, and Dee (Jack Tipton) Manering; 9 grandchildren and their spouses; numerous great grandchildren that he loved and cherished; two sisters, Loretta Sheets and Emma "Sissy" (Clyde) Fuller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Patricia Evans, son, Michael Castle, four brothers and one sister.

Willard graduated from Southeastern High School. After graduation, he served in the Navy on the USS Beatty. After returning home, he started his career at Mead Paper. He retired from Mead Paper in 1999. He was a faithful member of Fairview Christian Church of Tick Ridge where he served as a first elder for many years.

Pap loved spending time with family, attending church, working in his yard and flower gardens, his cats and he loved life in general.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Christian Church of Tick Ridge (1817 Borland Rd. Ray, OH) with Pastor Butch Cooper officiating. Burial to follow in Tick Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday April 20th from 4-8 p.m. at the church.
