Obituary for William "Bill" Bromley

November 18, 1953 - February 4, 2021
Broadview Heights, Ohio | Age 67

Loving Husband, Father, Brother, and Uncle

William "Bill" Bromley, age 67. Beloved husband of Ilona "Ica" Bromley (nee Kolmer). Loving and proud father to Matthew "Matt" Bromley (Shannon) and Michael "Mike" Bromley (Andie). Little brother to Diane (Frank) Seitz and Jeanne (Tony) Tosti, big brother to John (Pamela) Bromley. Uncle of Jennifer and Kelly Seitz and Colleen and Christina Tosti.

Bill was born on November 18, 1953 in Chicago, IL. At the age of five his family relocated to Richmond Hts., OH, which is where Bill grew up. He was a natural athlete and star of his high school basketball team. Although Bill didn't have the best grades in school, he discovered that he enjoyed "analyzing" things and found his niche after taking a computer programming class at Cleveland State.

Bill's career in IT took off in 1993 when he was hired as a programming manager at Aga Gas, a Swedish industrial gas company. He was hard-working, honest and dependable; characteristics that earned him a good reputation in the industry and allowed him to advance through the ranks.

Bill stayed with Aga through its various mergers and acquisitions until December 31, 2020, at which time he was the Manager of Business Application Services and SAP Development at Airgas, a distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases. Bill enjoyed his job in IT and was well-liked and respected by colleagues and superiors alike.

In his free time Bill enjoyed gardening, which resulted in an abundance of fresh vegetables every summer. He was passionate about politics and would eagerly debate anyone who dared. He had an avid interest in technological advancements and looked forward to the purchase of his first self-driving car. He was equally interested in all things scientific, so when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in April of 2020, Bill immediately began to research the latest drugs/treatment plans and often challenged his oncologist with questions. He fought the cancer with all his might until Covid-19 overwhelmed his compromised immune system. He passed away on February 4, 2021.

Bill was a kind and loyal friend and family member, an easy-going yet persistent co-worker, a patient (and goofy!) father, a devoted husband. The world has lost "one of the good guys." He will be sorely missed.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the spring or summer of 2021, when it can be held outdoors. Please check back in a couple of months at www.buschcares.com for updated information on the memorial service.
