William Conner Isbell Jr was escorted to his rewards in heaven on July 27, 2017.He was born May 10, 1928 at 9:25 a.m. in Childress, Texas to Gracie Conner Isbell and Willie C. Isbell, Sr. .

William worked in the fields with his parents picking cotton in North Texas as a young man. He, joined the US Navy on January 2, 1946 and became a cook. While in the Navy, he participated in the Atomic Bomb tests.

On April 3, 1950 he married Margaret in Dallas County.He worked for Cabells, later began working for Tempco Aircraft. After being layed off, he worked at Gifford Hill American making concrete pipes. After several years, he was called back to what was LTV Aircraft where he retired in 1991 .

He was an avid fisherman. Often, he could come in from work, only to grab his rods and reels and go fishing until 10 or 11 at night. Many times, he would go to some of the poorer parts of town and he would give his fish away to older people. He never spoke ill of others and never used fowl language. After falling in his backyard, he spent his last two years in a rehab & Nursing Home. Even there, people loved him and became his friends.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Mother, Sister, Ruby Louise Patterson, Son-in-Law, Gary Moon, Sister-in-Law, Rose Isbell, Niece, Janice Northcutt.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Isbell, brother Bobby Gene Isbell, sister Joyce Ann Morris and husband, Neal, son W.C. Isbell and wife, Claudette, daughter Dana Kay Moon, grandchildren: William David, Jeremy Daniel Isbell and wife, Alina, Rachel Faith Taylor, Belinda Westing and husband, Paul, Rebekah Seabolt, Chris Hartzel; great-grandchildren: Shawn, Brandon, Mackenzie, Zachery, Cheyenne, Jessica, Zachary, Hannah, Schuylar; great-great-grandchild Sophia, nieces and nephews: Peggy Penney and children, Starla and Diane, Eric Northcutt, Kenneth Gene Isbell, Linda May Torres and husband, Johnny Joe and children, Johnny Jr., Ray, Mickey and Chloe, Michelle McCoy and husband, Lonnie and chidren, Katherine, Rebekah and Joseph and untold numbers of friends.
