William G. “Dub” Davenport, 91, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, December 6th, 2017 at his home. He was born February 22nd, 1926 in Congo, Arkansas to the late John William and Emma Martha Davenport.

During World War II Dub served at Port Hueneme Naval Base, California. After the war, he earned a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Arkansas. He would use this degree in continuing to serve our state and country, managing health units for the Arkansas Department of Health and later the United States Department of Health in the Kansas City region. Dub was responsible for developing a program for Native Americans that was so successful, he was asked to present it in Washington DC. A devout Methodist, Dub was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was a proud member of ROMEO. Beautiful music, good friends, his 1966 Buick Electra 225 and his Razorbacks were all treasures to him!

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Floyd Davenport, Tennie Robertson, Lorene Barker, Meda Baxley, and Doris Munson.

All are invited to a celebration of Dub’s life 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 13th, 2017 in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church-Hot Springs with Rev. David Wilson officiating.
