William J. "Bill" Pescaglia, 79 of Manito, formerly of Pekin, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at his home with his family.
Born August 18, 1937 in Peoria, Illinois to Cevial and Dorothy (Kuntz) Pescaglia; he married Mary Hannan on September 7, 1957 in Pekin. She survives in Manito.
Also surviving are his son, Terry Pescaglia, also of Manito; his grandson, Jace Bland; and his sister, Rose (Don) Hasler of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by two infant sons.
Bill served in the US Army from 1960-62.
He was a gifted mechanic and made a career at Pekin Hardwood Lumber in Pekin until he retired in 2000 after 38 years with the company. He also extended his mechanical skill to the Green Valley Fire Department for many years.
He was a member of the Model A Restorers Club and Ag of the Past of Central Illinois.
Whether it was for hire, for fun or for charity, Bill was always working and he generously lent his talents to folks who needed help.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where visitation will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 2, 2016 and be followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Michael Andrejek officiating. Burial will follow at Green Valley Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Green Valley Fire Department or the Forman Ambulance.
