William Jerome Hanusek, Msgt US Army Retired, passed away on July 20, 2017 in Palm Bay, FL. He was born on March 27, 1920 in Mount Pleasant, PA to Lawrence and Sofie Hanusek.

William served in WWII and Korea as a combat medic in Guadual Canal and Bouganville. Retired as Msgt. After retiring from the military, he worked in a civilian capacity for US Army Engineer School, Training Doctrine Command, Mechanical and Technical Engineering, Fort Belvoir, VA 1967-1977. After retiring Civil Service from US Army Engineer School, he worked with Booz Allen as a Management Analyst.1978-1983. He then went on to work as Chief of Security at Bloomingdales in Tyson Corner, VA 1986-1991. William left and went to work for the Fairfax County Police Department as a Crossing Guard at Stratford Landing Elementary School and Fort Hunt Elementary from 1993-2011.

He is survived by his only daughter, Pamela L Reynolds of Indialantic FL; granddaughters, Ashley Carter (husband Jimmy Carter), Hayley Reynolds and Alexandra Reynolds; and great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Noble Carter.

William was preceded in death by his wife , Ruth K. Hanusek,

The visitation will be held from 2pm - 4pm and 6pm - 8pm on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. The funeral mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2017 Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22309.
