William R. Old, age 84 of Norwalk, died Monday March 12, 2012 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. He was born on April 20, 1927 in Huron, and has lived in Norwalk for over 30 years, having previously resided in Berlin Heights, Huron and Sandusky. He was a graduate of Berlin Heights High School. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the Berlin Heights American Legion and the Norwalk VFW. He retired from Scott Paper in Sandusky in 1972 and was a house painter and decorator. For many years he enjoyed traveling, fishing, and fast pitch softball. He loved sports and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children William (Becky) Old Jr., of KY, Daniel Old, of Collins, George (Jean) Codeluppi, of Milan, Brad (Anita) Codeluppi, of Milan, Jody Tesson, of MO, Vickie (Skip) Loconsole, of Norwalk, Georgene (Jerry) Wilson, of Norwalk, his sister Beverly Ritz, of Berlin Heights, his brother Bud (Kathy) Old, of Berlin Heights, 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years Lois (Carrico) Old, his parents William and Edna (Swart) Old, and his siblings Marjorie, Ila Fay, Rhea, Leah, Rive, Norma, Marvin, Roger, Bradley, Wesley, and Irvin.
Friends may call on Friday 5:00 to 9:00 pm at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights, where services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am. Pastor Dick Kretchmar will be officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Berlin Heights.
