Services for Mr. William Robert "Bill" Joyner will be held Saturday at 11 am at Stephens Funeral Home chapel in DeKalb. Revs. Larry Joyner and Ben Jones will be officiating.
Burial will be in Big Oak Methodist Church cemetery.
Mr. Joyner, 75, of DeKalb, passed away Wednesday at his residence. He was self-employed in the construction as well as being an incredible gunsmith. He enjoyed woodworking, having built numerous pieces of furniture that his family will treasure for years. He served his country with the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division as a construction engineer serving a great amount of time in Germany.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Peggy Joyner, sons Chris Joyner, Robert Joyner and wife Patricia; step daughter Debbie Reid and husband Ronnie; step son Ricky Rash and wife Donna; brother Elton Joyner and sister Mazell Long. Mr. Joyner is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Grace Joyner and brothers Leotis, Douglas Ray, Charles Wayne and Ellis Joyner.
Pallbearers will be members of the Kemper County Sheriff's Office.
Visitation will be from 9am to 11am the day of the service.
