Richmond, Texas - William Wayne Klein, 74, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital after a long bout with diabetes and following a stroke in the weeks prior.
Bill, as he was known by his family and friends, leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Dorothy; his daughters Kimberly, Victoria, and Marci with husband Geoffrey; his son William with wife Rebecca; his grandson, Michael; his granddaughters Charlotte and Skylah; brother Kevin with wife Nancy; as well as a lifetime of close friends and loving family.
Born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the son of William and Veronica (Neabor) Klein, he raised his family in nearby Horsham, Pennsylvania, eventually becoming an honorary Texan over a decade ago.
After graduating in 1960, Bill attended a couple semesters at Rutgers University, eventually entering the blossoming plastics field, and working his way up to plastics engineer and partner at a couple of select outfits in the tri-state area of the Northeastern United States.
After taking a job in Houston, Texas, he met the love of his life, Dorothy, as it happened that they were co-workers. They eventually moved to Pennsylvania and started their family together in 1982. Bill would eventually go on to start and serve as president and chief executive officer of his own successful company in the field of plastics. Over the years, his knowledge, expertise, and reliability enabled him to not only be successful in his own business, but allowed him the privilege of serving as a consultant and advisor for other companies long after retirement.
Mr. Klein had a passion for cars, music, and collectibles. He spent the last years of his life immersed in the buying and selling of everything from paper money and souvenir cards to vintage Coca-Cola merchandise, to autographed records and other music industry memorabilia.
Bill's priority, above all else, was his family.
A Memorial Service celebrating Bill's life will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in the chapel at The Settegast-Kopf Company Co. @ Sugar Creek in Sugar Land, Texas.
