Willie Jay Dutcher, 52, of George West, passed away on July 26th, 2014, after a year long battle with cancer. A celebration of his life will be held at Weir Baptist Church, Weir, Texas, on July 29th at 1:30pm.

Willie was born October 8th, 1961, in Temple to mother Betty Dutcher. Willie grew up with his brothers James and Larry Dutcher and his sisters Terry and Amy. He attended Georgetown High School. Willie then married Stella Tarver and the pair had two daughters, Stephanie, 20 and Ashley, 19.

In the fall of 2000, Willie then married his beloved wife Deanne and with this union came three step-daughters, Kelley, 30, Michelle, 27, and Emily, 20.

Although he played many roles, his favorite was that of Paw-Paw to his three grandchildren Audree, 9, Johnee, 7 and Cash, 5 months.

In 2011, Willie and Deanne relocated to Willie's childhood home in Swinney Switch,

Texas, along the Nueces River. There the couple enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking boat rides with their grandkids and spending time with their precious dog Harley. The couple worked at Nabors Well Services.

In August of 2013, Willie was diagnosed with aggressive stage four brain and lung cancer. After extensive treatment and a long 11 month battle, Willie passed away in his home by the river just as he had wished.

Willie is survived by his mother Betty, wife Deanne and his two daughters Stephanie and Ashley; step-daughters Kelley, Michelle and Emily; granddaughters Audree and Johnee, grandson Cash; his brothers Larry and James and his sister Amy. He is preceded in death by his sister Terry, his beloved Nanny and Pa, as well as his Uncle Stanley.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that donations be made in Willie's honor to the Christus Spohn Cancer Center. Memorial contributions can be made in person or online at christusspohnfoundation.org
