93, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC formerly of Durham, NC passed away on the morning of Friday the twenty third of June 2017 in the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, "Brunswick House", Bolivia, NC.
Born in Durham, NC on the third of June, 1924, he was a son of the late John Wesley and Eva Guess Rose. He was a US Army veteran having served in the 745th Engineer Heavy Shop Company during WWII. He received the American Theater Service, Asiatic Pacific Service, Good Conduct and the WWII Victory medals. Mr. Rose was preceded in death by a son, Winfred Earl Rose, his siblings, Dewey Rose, Johnny Rose, Louise Woods, Mary Rose Whitaker and Leroy Rose.
Surviving are his loving wife of sixty-nine years Ruby Milliken Rose whom he married on the fifteenth of May 1948; a daughter, Cheryl Rose Murphy and husband Harvey of Durham, NC; a son, Charlie Lee Rose of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; a granddaughter, Heather Leigh Lewis; a great granddaughter, Meriwether Pedrosa Lewis; many nieces, nephews; special friends, Wayne & Marsha Benton, Betty & Dave Nelson, Jimmy & Linda Smith and Artie and Debbie Duncan; his canine companions "Snoop Dog", "Nicholas" and his feline friend Jordan.
A celebration of life will be conducted at Bahama Baptist Church in Bahama, NC on Wednesday, the twenty eighth of June 2017 at two o'clock in the afternoon.
You are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from one until two o'clock, on Wednesday at the church.
