Winifred V. Brown: Groveland (formally Rushville), New York. Entered her heavenly home on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the age of 94, at her daughter's home in Groveland. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service to be held Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Rushville United Methodist Church, 26 N. Main Street, Rushville, NY.

Mrs. Brown was born on April 09, 1921, in Bradford, NY, the daughter of the late Laura and Clair Yawger. She married Clifford on May 29, 1940. They made their home and raised their family in Rushville, NY, and spent 19 years living in Nokomis, Florida, spending summers in Vine Valley, NY. She and her husband moved back to Canandaigua, NY, and became affiliate members of the First United Methodist Church of Canandaigua. Winnie was the consummate mother and homemaker, active in the life of her family, church, and community. She was strong of faith, a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She was a long time member of the Rushville United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, UMW, Alpha Class, sold Vanda Beauty Counselor cosmetics, and served as Welcome Wagon Hostess.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Brown; daughter, Jeanne Lois Brown; Brother, Calvin (Sue) Yawger; sisters, Harriet (Ray) Sloan, Erma (Irving) Bergeron, and Clara (Walt) Seligman. She is survived by her 3 children, Beverly Schroeder of Canandaigua, Robert (Linda) Brown of Macedon, and Kathy (Jay) Phillips of Groveland; 12 grandchildren, Karen (Rick) Schantz, Kim (Jeff) Coffey, Kevin (Pam) Negley, Ryan (Kimberly) Brown, Lindsay (Steve) Paulson, Seth (Katie) Phillips, Chad (Sarah) Phillips, Sean, Jillian, Jessica, Samuel Tyler, and Daniel Phillips; and 12 great-grandchildren, Alysia and Kristen Schantz, Daniel Coffey, Maxwell and Jackson Negley, Anabelle , Oliver, and Charles Paulson, Andrew, Molly, Levi Phillips. And Diana Phillips.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Winnie may be given to the Rushville United Methodist Church, 26 N. Main St., Rushville, NY 14544, or the Livingston County Hospice, 2 Murray Hill Drive, Mt. Morris, NY 14510.
