Winnie Mae Frierson was born on April 19, 1940 to the late Abraham and Elease (Rush) Hannah, Sr. in Olanta, South Carolina. She received her education in the public school of Florence County. Winnie was united in marriage to the late Frank Frierson on September 14, 1959. In 1961, the Frierson's relocated in Paterson, NJ and became a member of Canaan Baptist Church. Winnie was employed at New Craft for twelve years in Paterson, NJ. The she became employed by Bergen Pines now known as Bergen Regional Medical Hospital as supervisor dietary/nutrition services until her retiring in 2006. Winnie enjoyed fishing and planting in her garden and planting flowers around her home. It brought her peace and joy to watch care for them. Winnie also cared for her children and extended children as well. Holiday cooking was very special occasions to her see all her children from far and wide every year to provide a very large meal. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Frierson, her parents, Abraham and Elease Hannah, two daughters, Frankie "Penny" Frierson and Cynthia Holmes, one brother, Abraham Hannah, Jr. and two sisters, Nancy McCray and Camilee Hannah Fulmore McClam. She entered into God's arms on Monday, March 5, 2012. Winnie leaves to cherish precious memories; four sons, Terry Hannah, Anthony "Ricky", Jason, Christopher Frierson all of Paterson; four daughters, Yvonne and Yvette Frierson and Ro'Deiger Floyd all of Paterson, Mary J. Jones of Roosevelt, NY; two adoptive daughters, Rocky Carmichael and Karen Pridgen of Paterson; one daughter-in-law, Liz Hannah' one god son, Oliver Gilchrist of Georgia; two brothers, Johnny Zimmerman of Olanta, SC and Raymond Zimmerman of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Teresa Zimmerman of Baltimore, MD; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-eight great grandchildren; devoted friends, Dorothy Eaddy of Paterson, NJ, Magnolia Woods of Rocky Mount, NC and Betty Cole of SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
