TOWNSHEND, Woodrow Wilson, Jr., 81, of Heathsville, Va., passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November, 23, 2017. "Laddie" was born in Waldorf, Md., December 13, 1935 to parents Woodrow Wilson, Sr. and Catherine Bowdish Townshend who have preceded him in death. He graduated from Gwynn Park High School and was employed as a Government Printer Supervisor for 28 years. Laddie married Virginia Ely and together they celebrated 61 years of marriage, residing for many years in Brandywine, Md. He is survived by his loving wife and six sons; Woodrow Wilson III of Bowie Md., Michael Andrew of Fredericksburg, Va., Daniel Bradley of Arlington, Va., Kenneth Scott of Vienna, Va., Douglas Ely of New Bern, N.C., and James Durwood of Fredericksburg, Va. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. "Laddie" was a member of Light of Christ Anglican Church in Heathsville, an original member of The Brandywine Volunteer Fire Department and former president of The Heathsville Rescue Squad Auxiliary. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and many outdoor activities with his sons. There will be a memorial service celebrating his life at 11 a.m., December 9, at Light of Christ Anglican Church in Heathsville, Va. Inurnment will be in Atonement Cemetery, Cheltenham, Md. In the spring of 2018.
