Zachary "Pooh Bear" Potter, 18, of Colorado City, passed away unexpectedly at the Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo on August 23, 2017. After passing, he continued being selfless by donating the gift of life to 6 others as his final act of kindness.
He was born on September 2, 1998 in Snyder to Brian and Michelle Molina Potter.
Zach was a graduate of Colorado High School's class of 2017 where he earned his high school diploma and received college credits from TSTC in welding. When he was around there was never a dull moment as he was full of charm, humor and adventure, and prone to spontaneous dance. He was the type of person that could cheer you up when you were feeling down and always had the time to help a friend who was in need, give a hug or an "I love you" to lift your spirits. Smiles and laughter followed him wherever he roamed. He believed in living life to its fullest, enjoying activities such as fishing, dirt biking, playing sports, especially baseball and umping TTAB Baseball, going 4-wheeling or out mudding, or relaxing on a float down the river. He was a man that believed in putting his all into his work and was proud to have created his own flavor of sno-cone called the "Sour Patch Kid" at Safari's Sno Cone, where he worked over the summers while finishing school and waiting to go off to college at South Plains Community College to pursue his goal of becoming a Game Warden.
Zach is survived by his parents Brian and Michelle Potter, by his brothers Mathew Potter of Colorado City and Stephen Potter and wife Sarena of Colorado City and twin nieces Kinleigh and Berkley Potter. Also surviving are his paternal grandparents Theo Holt and husband Jay of San Angelo and Randy Potter and wife Betty also of San Angelo and his maternal grandparents Manuel Molina and wife Maria Elena of Colorado City. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and an endless number of friends also survive.
Visitations for Zach will be on Sunday August 27th and Monday August 28th from 6-8 pm with rosaries both days at 7 pm at the Kiker Seale Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday August 29th at 10 am at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Colorado City with burial to follow in the Colorado City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his funeral fund at City National Bank, or please consider memorial contributions to the Colorado High Baseball Program, the Mitchell County Youth Baseball or to a charity of your choice.
